In the video, Tim Holt explains not only what iTunes U is, but how educators can use it to further their profession development, or to supplement their knowledge in other areas as well. It can also be a resource for students. this is a very thorough demonstration, starting with how to find iTunes U and continuing with explanations of the different ways that you can use this resource. If you have never used iTunes U before, you will find this to be a very useful resource on how to use this tool.
If you have used iTunes U, you may be interested in using it as a way to create a course on your own. If that is the case, you can also find a course in iTunes U on how to create a course in iTunes U. The course is called iTunes U: A Course Creation Guide for Educators (note: the link is to a description of the course, but you can use the link to open the course in iTunes U). Almost all of the resources in this course are free and available to anyone to use. I didn't know work through the entire course, but what I looked at seemed very thorough, and it starts from the beginning with having you create an Apple ID. While it is geared toward OSU faculty, the material is relevant to anyone in education. If you have a course that you feel might be well suited for iTunes U, this would be a valuable resource for you to use. iTunes U is a wonderful but often overlooked resource for teachers and students alike.
